There is a new mobile phone model from China that has a projector inside it. Here is a funny ad about the new phone.



It is a LCoS based projector and it supports audio/video/photo files., It can also serve as a TV receiver. The phone also supports Dual SIMs and according to this advertisement, this projector phone is also available in the Japanese market, now.

Deadline for Chinese Handsets to be extened till March 31, 2009

The Government is likely to extend the deadline for Chinese Handsets till March 31, 2009 - though some of the operators have sought time till July.

The Government had earlier asked all Telecoms companies to cut off mobile services to Chinese handsets - that do not have IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) - by January 6, 2009

IMEI is a unique 15-digit code that comes with every mobile and helps uniquely identify the handset. This number is very handy in tracing a stolen handset and also allow lawful interception of all calls.

The industry has also developed a software which when uploaded into these Chinese handsets can provide a unique IMEI number. By this nearly 25 million Chinese mobile phone users in India can continue using their handsets.
